Tracked courier
We arrange a tracked courier to collect from your home or work and send it back the same way. Check your postcode:
Packing it for the courier
- Use a sturdy box with at least 5cm of padding on every side.
- Close the lid on nothing: no pens, paper or cloths on the keyboard.
- Put the charger in a separate bag so it can’t scratch the case.
- For a hard drive or SSD on its own, use an anti-static bag and plenty of bubble wrap.
- Write your job number on a note inside the box.
Finding your model number
- MacBook, iMac, Mac mini: small print on the underside, starting with A, such as A2337.
- Windows laptops: the label underneath, or Settings > System > About.
- Lenovo ThinkPad: the machine type, such as 20L5, on the label underneath.
- Desktops: a sticker on the back or side of the case.
Look your model up to see what can be upgraded.
Before you hand it over
- Back up anything you can, if it still works.
- Tell us your password, or create a test account for us, if you want it tested signed in.
- Remove discs, USB sticks and SD cards you want to keep.
While it is with us
We call or email with the diagnosis and one price. Nothing chargeable is done until you agree it. Call 020 7237 6805 with your job number at any time to ask how it is going.
