Known faults on the MacBook Pro

Butterfly keyboard faults: keys that stick, repeat or stop working, often from a speck of dust under one key.
Display cable wear (often called “flexgate”): a stage-light pattern along the bottom of the screen, then the backlight failing when the lid is opened past a certain angle.

Getting your files back

On the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch Touch Bar the storage is soldered to the board, so it can’t be removed and read elsewhere. If it won’t start, we repair the board until it boots, then copy your files off.
