Known faults on the MacBook Pro

Butterfly keyboard faults: keys that stick, repeat or stop working, often from a speck of dust under one key.
Display cable wear (often called “flexgate”): a stage-light pattern along the bottom of the screen, then the backlight failing when the lid is opened past a certain angle.

Getting your files back

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, two Thunderbolt 3 ports uses a removable Apple SSD module. If the Mac has failed but the SSD is healthy, we read it on the bench with an adapter. If the SSD itself has failed, it needs firmware or board-level recovery.
